New Movies!

Sunday, May 28th, 2006

There are new movies of the Boo up on his site! There’s a movie of Nathan playing with his new cars and a movie of Nathan lying on his little couch.

These are cool because we got Nathan his first Matchbox cars today (supervision only!) and a little play mat. You can hear him go Vroom! Vroom! in the movie. The couch one is funny because he’s covering himself up. He used to HATE being covered up! Now he does it of his own initiative. We’re very proud! Besides, it’s really cute :)

Anyway, movies require a login/password and Quicktime. Enjoy!

Blankets are GOOD!

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Boo has always foregone blankets or coverings of any kind during sleep. He even hates the feet on some types of pajamas. When he was little bitty we used one of those zip-up blankets, I forget what they’re called. But then again, when he was little bitty it was winter and really cold! But for a long time… no blankets.

Until recently! For the past several nights he has decided blankets are a GOOD THING. He has switched from always falling asleep on his tummy with his legs tucked under him and bum in the air (very cute by the way) to lying on his back with a blanket pulled over him and his feet sticking out. It’s too funny and very cute!He also insists that Pooh Bear lie down as well (it’s one of those ginormous Winnie the Poohs too!) and he tucks his head right up against the edge of the crib.

The downside of this blanket phenomenon is that I was draping blankets over the sides of the crib to make it darker because his room is a bit too bright! Now he pulls the blankets down. Oops!

The Spoken Word

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Boo has decided to grace me with a word. Mom. Actually it’s MOMMOMMOMMOM. But I’ll take it :)

He decided this was a good idea while we were visiting Mema and the fam in Kentucky. I sometimes give him goldfish crackers in the car to hold him over for something, and instead of grunting and waving his hands around like he usually does for the goldfish, he went MOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOM. MOM. MOMOMOM. Over and over and over. It was very funny! I guess I am She Who Gives Me What I Want And Therefore Deserves A Name Like Mom.

In fact, the last few days he’s been saying MOMMOMMOM whenever he wants anything at all or when he’s pissed at me. Which is sadly rather often but I’m trying my best! Anyway it’s cool to have a name. Let the speaking commence!

Reading

Thursday, May 4th, 2006

Boo has taken to reading! He’s so cute. Part of our bedtime routine is reading some books with a bottle, which makes it much easier to actually READ as his hands are occupied! Just in the past few days he will read one of his little Mr Men books! He opens it and babbles and looks up at us and grins. It’s wonderful. I’m so proud and impressed! I cannot wait until he’s speaking a bit more, I’m just dying to know what he’s been saying all this time!
