New video! All trains, all the time!

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

H has put together a new video of Boo and his trains. It’s rather cute :) I don’t have an image to put up with this (how do I do screen capture on a Mac? Anyone know?).

This video has been a long time in coming because for a while we weren’t sure where the video charger was and then we weren’t sure where the firewire cable to upload the video was! We did find the charger and Hen has solved the problem of the firewire cable through utter cleverness and refusal to throw away anything cable related, so now there is a new video. Phew!

We should keep the camera downstairs and try to catch Nathan doing his latest trick — singing the alphabet song with his alphabet magnets that Nanny and Granddad got him for his birthday!

Nathan is trying to give up naps. If he’s at home, he flat refuses. He’ll ask for his bottle of warm milk, he’ll ask to read some books, then when he finishes his bottle he LEAPS out of bed ready for more action!

Argh!

On days like today where you are basically trapped inside because of the rain and because Mama took the car for the afternoon, that pretty much means no naps these days.

And at 6:30, Nathan practically collapsed asleep at the dinner table. No, he didn’t go face first in his food, but he was really upset and tired. So we laid him down, completely unprepared for bed, and he fell asleep. There’s no sheets on his bed, no pajamas, and no nighttime diapers.

We’ll see how it goes! I hope it’s not just a nap!

Now I Know My ABCs

Sunday, November 5th, 2006

For his birthday, Nanny and Granddad got Nathan the Leap Frog Fridge Phonics set. It’s a bunch of letter magnets and a nifty little thing that sings a song about each letter, plus the Now I Know My ABCs song.

Nathan has played with this at other people’s houses so I thought it would be a nice, small thing to put on his wish list. And true to form, he loves it. In fact he loves it a little too much — that thing is LOUD! It gets in your brain!

But the thing that really makes it worthwhile? The other day we caught Nathan standing in front of it singing the Now I Know My ABCs song. I have never heard him do this before, ever. Awesome.
