Gardening

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Today the Boo and I started our container garden. We found a Home Depot, with a very sorry selection of plants I have to say, bought some anyway, found some non-eco-friendly-but-cheap pots and potting soil, and went home for some digging fun! Boo played around in the dirt for maybe 10 minutes. The part he loved the best?

Watering. He’s a pro waterer. This is officially his job now. Watering plants :)

I can’t wait to see what he thinks about them as they grow. We now have this happy little container garden around my Baby Buddha. There’s currently lemon balm, rosemary, cherry tomatoes, and strawberries. I also want to obtain some mint and some sort of edible flower for making summer tea this summer. We’ll see what survives!

The Boo ToDo List

Friday, April 27th, 2007

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but one of my sort-of New Years Resolutions was to be more proactive about activities with the Boo. What’s the point of being a stay at home mom if I can’t take advantage of staying at home to do cool stuff with the boy? Sometimes I wonder if he wouldn’t be better off in a high quality daycare if we never do anything interesting.

Therefore, I want to make a list of things to do and do at least one interesting, new thing per week. Here’s the list, and I’ll cross stuff off (and hopefully blog about said item!) when items are accomplished.

A separate list for hiking and park destinations since there are so many of them!

And a separate list for things to MAKE for/with the Boo!

  • Felt board for days of the week
  • Menu on fridge: days of the week AND food
  • Felt balls and/or people, beads, etc.
  • Container garden — herbs, tomatoes, strawberries
