Getting Dressed

The Boo chose his clothes for the first time the other day, with Daddy cheering him on I can only presume. He didn’t do badly: blue sweatpants, yellow t-shirt, bright red socks. What can I say, the boy likes some color.

It’s a momentous occasion because he’s never been interested in dressing himself before. In an effort to glean some advice on how to get him dressed more easily in the morning (sometimes it can take forEVER with MUCH resistance), several people suggested I let him pick his clothes out.

Fine, no problem.

Except he didn’t want to. Given the choice, he’d rather be naked. Not so good for going out, especially seeing as it’s winter.

So I was really surprised when I came home the other day and H said Boo had picked out his own clothes. Well, how about that? He even picked out underwear. Why do I get the feeling his childhood will soon be over and I won’t get to shop for him any more?
