Why do planets go around the sun?

Monday, December 29th, 2008

The other day at bedtime, the Boo asked his Daddy why the planets go around the sun. These are the moments you love having kids.

More on the writing front

The other day, the Daddy person write some words on Boo’s easel for him to copy.

That’s Daddy’s writing up top. Then below were the blank lines. Boo didn’t really cotton on to the idea that you could use the line placement to help write the letters. He insisted on writing them in the bottom portion. But he did really well! Then he insisted I write them in the top portion.

So there you go. All three of us practicing our letters :)

Writing

The Boo has been into letters lately. He enjoys putting magnet letters together and asking what that spells. He makes letters out of almost anything. He can sometimes point out letters in various places but also mysteriously cannot remember a letter he learned just that day in school!

The other day he wanted to see how to spell his family’s names:

I did the first few and then he wanted to write “Nanny” himself! He did a really good job with very little prompting from me. He ran out of space with the first “Nan” so started again to the left. It’s nice to see him so interested in reading and writing now. He didn’t like books much as a baby and we were a little bit worried!

Here’s what Baby did while we played at the easel:

He is playing with popsicle sticks. Lots of fun stuff in a craft room!
